Theacrine(CAS(2309-49-1), 1,3,7, 9-tetramethyluric acid, is an alkaloid extracted from Cupuacu (cupuacu) and tea leaves. Tetramethyluric acid, which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, is similar in structure to and affects adenosine signaling in a similar way. It is stated that tetramethyluric acid is thought to be synthesized in a three-step process in tea.

Uses:
Tetramethyluric acid is an impurity of c. C is a bitter, white crystalline xanthine alkaloid that acts as a stimulant drug and a reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. C is found in varying quantities in the seeds, leaves, and fruit of some plants, where it acts as a natural pesticide that paralyzes and kills certain insects feeding on the plants. In humans, it acts as a central nervous system stimulant, temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. C is a cardiac and respiratory stimulant; diuretic. C is toxic at sufficiently high doses.
